WHY  WE EXIST AS A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

We have a Christian School to:
  1. Provide opportunities to Worship.
  2. Teach ministry opportunities.
  3. Equip students to be involved in evangelism.
  4. Offer opportunities to be a part of fellowship with other Christians.

Discipleship is the term we often use to describe the building up or strengthening of believers (Christians) in their quest to be like Christ.

The Word of God is filled with passages that encourage us to mature in our Christian faith,

Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and faith toward God.

1 Peter 2:2-3 “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby: if so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious, says, “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.”

Simply put—Discipleship—is a lifelong process that God uses to bring us to maturity in Christ.

Each school day our goal is to consistently plant Christ like seeds into their lives and water their faith.  And we do this in faith that God will do the impossible and bring spiritual growth in their lives.

1 Corinthians 3:6-7 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.  So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

In offering their discipleship opportunities, we are helping them develop Godly HABITS*.

It’s only through God’s grace and the spiritual habits they’re developed in school through college that they’ll continue to grow in their walk with Christ.  It’s through the discipleship opportunities that we offer help them develop HABITS*—Christ like habits that are going to help them grow in their walk with Christ.

*HABITS:

ang time with God

ccountabillity with another believer

ible memorization

nvolvement within the church body

ithing commitment

tudy Scripture

Students with these habits in their lives will grow in their relationship with Christ.  That is why it’s important for them to take advantage of every opportunity that God gives them here in this school and in their church, because it’s through these opportunities that they’ll begin to develop these habits.
